Refractive index 1.4381, flash point 27 ℃. It is hardly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and most organic solvents. It is stable to lye, and can be hydrolyzed in dilute acid solution to produce acetaldehyde and chloroethanol; it can also be polymerized, but compared with propylene-based monomers, the delay of the polymerization reaction is small; the hydrophilic oxyethyl group can react with other polymers and be used as a polymer modifier; as a monomer, it can be copolymerized with other monomers. |
